History

Kirk Nelson, class of 2009, was one of the most accomplished student body presidents in school history. In his four terms as president, he was able to quell the rampant drug problem at SES and start an after school sex education program for the students. His greatest accomplishment came when he was able to bring Gene Duvernoy, a director of the Marine Conservation Biology Institute, to Salina to talk about the current BCS system.

Cole Lilly is the pride and soul of Southeast of Saline High School. He led the Trojans to multiple state championships in multiple sports including soccer despite SES not even having a soccer team. To recognize his greatness the school retired his number, named the football field and the basketball court after him and erected a bronze statue of his likeness in front of the school. Unfortunately, allegations were brought forth that accused Lilly of receiving illegal benefit during his years at SES. It was reported that school boosters gave Lilly an unprecedented amount of benefits to attend. Some of the benefits included: pack of stride gum, a year's supply of paper clips, two bottles of orange Powerade, and a razor scooter. To this day, Lilly denies all allegations and is still the most decorated athlete at SES.
